PostSubject: Non-spellcasting class spell scrolls   Mon 16 May - 5:43

I've found a few scrolls that I'm hanging onto because they look handy and my bard levels let me use them, but they're nowhere to be found on either the NWN2 spell list or in Kaedrin's content that I've found. Is there anywhere that you can find a description of them? The ones I've found are "Lyrics of the Lich" and "song of dischord". I've heard that the first is like horrid wilting, and the second sounds like a sort of dispel, but if there's a way to check what they do, I'd like to to make sure I don't waste a good scroll in a situation where it won't work.

Lyrics of the lich is like horrid wilting, but it hits party members too. And song of discord is a 5th level bard spell, an enemy only confusion spell.

I've also wondered about some spells. Does anyone know what these things do:
Unbroken Circle
Anti-magic Edge
Vorpal Edge
Defensive Edge

I am pretty sure those spells don't do anything at all.

I shouldn't even post this because it's spam, but I had to. This gave me a good laugh. Laughing

I do not know what a clockroach is. All I know is that I must have it.

Unbroken circle I can confirm does nothing at all, at least when I used it, the others I haven't seen.

I have no idea what script or item hak the server is using for that, but there's a buttload of spells in the NwN2 engine that were never finished. This scroll system seems to put every single last spell into a scroll, which means the unfinished spells are dropped - since they have nothing else than a name, they can be used by everyone yet do nothing. With the exception of creature spells like Dragon's Breath.

Rogue's Cunning is an old spell from the original NWN1 where it existed as a potion.

One thing that I've notified broken are the NWN1 spells that were not implemented into NWN2; for example Negative energy ray, Darkfire, Energy buffer, Time Stop, etc.
Do NOT buy these scrolls because even if they showed in the item abilities, you cannot use them.

Also, a kind of strange thing: while you actually can add Protection from Evil to your wizard's spellbook, it will not work if you try to memorize and cast it, after which you will have a chance to always mix it up with the working Protection from Alignment so I recommend not to do that.

Many of these were either remenants of the old nwn1 game (Draw Three Cards, Rod Of Wonder, etc) Some are campaign specific abilities that only have scripts attatched in the campaign

The Three Edge spells.
Defencive Edge
Anti-magic edge
Peircing edge

Aswell as things such as
Blade Storm
Shard Barrier
Shard Hail
Reform Blade
Meditative Restoration
Chilling Wrath
Infinite Resonance
Unity of Will
Unbroken Circle
Perfect Rejuvenation

These are all special abilities of the silver sword of gith

These simply wont work because there is no script attatched to the abilities outside of the official campaign and MOTB

Others that are from NWN1 include:
Rod Of wonder - A tonne of random effects read here
Draw One Card
Draw Two Cards
Draw Three Cards - These three are from a very powerful magic item called the Deck of hazards, each card has a special ability which can range from giving you a million gold to removing all your items, giving you permanent premonition spell (even when dispelled) giving you the plague permanently even summoning dragons both hostile and as companions. See:
Spell-like Ability
99% Of Nwn1 spells, Timestop, Darkfire, Energy Buffer, etc, etc, etc
Lich Lyrics: Uses a Bardsong use, creates Horrid Wilting at caster level 15
The Magic Electrifier abilites (This was hardcoded so may still work) These destroy items and store the charge, when the charge ability is used on a wand or similar item, it gives it charges on a ratio of 1 charge per 1000 gp value of items destroyed. Be VERY careful with these scrolls.

Also, Summon Clockroach was a Ability on an item given to you by a gnome in SoZ, it summons a Cockroach Golem. Fairly useless item really, again, another Campaign specific ability.

I would post links to what many should do, but i cant yet. - If we could have some of these rescripted and implimented that would be awesome (and apologies for Thread Necro)
