Loora listening from the crowds edges mutters mostly to her self but loud enough to be heard by anyone standing nearby, "did these rebels over throw the Zhents so they could make the rules and lord over the oppressed as liberators and new tyrants or to truly free the oppressed of Shadowdale so they could rule themselves again? Seems they did the later but resent not getting the former."

She smiles to Mylanis and the others, "all together again, thick as thieves the lot of you. Very well." She turns back to the gaurds and crowd and casts Bless filling the group with hope. The Elders nod and speak about how she is still thier chosen Lord. She turns back to Taeron and his supporters.

"Seems the people are speaking and you are no longer needed. I thank you for what you have done, but it's time for Shadowdale to move on. Your services are no longer required." A number of the townsfolk nod along with the Mayor, but a few look towards her with haunted looks, not quite fully supporting this out come.

"Guards escort these people out of town. We have Work to do.!

*Taeron hands a small boy a potion (or drinks it himself not to godmod NPCs) and the people around feel the same surge of "hope". He tosses the empty bottle on the ground.*

Is that your proof? A blessing? A spell that can be bought for a few coins at the store in the form of a potion?

I hear no people speaking, Glamerie. Or whatever your name is now...

*Taeron speaks with a slightly softer voice*

You don't hold the pendant. You were not elected. You usurped power when you had the chance. It's time to give it back to the people. Then you can get some treatment.

"No words about why you banished your militia leader? You call us thieves and then go? I was there. We agreed that you lead until the people have chosen their true rightful leader!" Karovir would draw his sword if not held back.

//Edit: Removed orders.

If and when Taeron and co. leaves town, Imesah seeks him out to speak with him (//in game preferably)

((Just woke up and read all of this O.O))

As the Mayor makes her way out, Kendra goes with her by her side and listens as she speaks, occasionally glancing at Taeron. She remains silent the whole time, allowing both parties to have their word. Eventually when Glameire states that the Guards should escort the people should be escorted out of town, Kendra speaks.

"I ask that you all please comply and step out of town while matters are handed. We need no bloodshed right now. There has been enough in this town." She eyes Taeron. "Rest assured that we are working for the town's betterment and wish nothing more than the safety and happiness of everyone. Please, just take a step back for now and let things settle."

Hopefully by saying this, Taeron will get the message.

*Taeron would simply motion to Karovir to sheathe the blade - or better yet, not draw it at all*

Karovir would hesitate at Taeron's gesture but seeing that Glamerie probably got out of his sword range by now he keeps the sword sheathed grumbling something about having to correct a mistake. His hand would still hold the grip of his sword though.

I mean no offense by this.

Before someone RPs that there is indeed a contingent of Dawnguard, I would ask a DM to confirm or not if it is the case. Unless this player was given official permission to RP NPCs, doing so is against the rules. Again, I mean no offense -- I just want to avoid having other people RP that NPCs are there before a DM states that they are.

*Taeron stands perhaps two feet from Glamerie and he speaks slowly.*

This ends here. I once again challenge you to return the power you usurped with no elections and without the pendant.

I didn't come here to draw blood. I came to undo a mistake. If you are so sure of the support of these people, you will step down and allow them to properly voice their opinion. And no. I will not be challenging you in the votes. I require no power over men. Can you say the same?

My understanding (though I could be wrong) is that people in charge of guards have the right to issue basic, expected commands to them. (Standing there and protecting the general public is basic and expected, while having them, say, attack Taeron or the Mayor would be another matter).

Imesah (Dawizahr's PC) is in charge of the Dawn Knights stationed in Shadowdale, per an order from Cleo.

While Dawizahr wasn't explicit in putting Imesah in the scene and having her issue commands, that's the gist of what's happening.

If I'm incorrect in my understanding, the blame is on me, because I'm the one who gave that understanding to Dawizahr.

Also, while we're talking, I thought it was pointed out somewhere that there WERE elections that put Glamerie in charge. They were sort of handwavey, but didn't that happen?

((Wow this blew up quickly; I wish I'd been able to respond sooner.))

*Jonah steps back outside as the confrontation escalates, and follows the conflict as it unfolds, albeit from a distance; some finer details are lost on him. He does not appear to favor either side, and observes what he can from a distance.*

"... apparently not well enough in hand..." *he says to himself.*

*His ears perk up at the mention of the Pendant, having recently read about it in the histories of Shadowdale. He looks between Bryanna and Kendra, trying to see who seems more free to speak.*

Odd, since you were there.

Granted, it wasn't a formal election and more of a "popular acclamation", but Taeron seemed convinced enough by the process in this thread.

Kendra looks pretty available to speak, standing at the Mayor's side, looking to try to be talking Taeron out of doing anything brash. She seems to know a few things and wants this to end peacefully.

Kendra speaks up again.

"Taeron, if this pendant is what's needed, then perhaps it should be found. I'm sure there are plenty of adventurers that would likely be willing to search for this. Please...reconsider the current actions at hand and use this chance to get people together to search for this...item...rather than doing things by force."

She doesn't seem to be trying to take sides, but more trying to diffuse the situation. She again looks to Taeron hoping he will get the message that this is not the time...

Sabi standing beside Curven looks over to say, "Do you imagine this is what it is like when Ilmateri novices gather?" She continues in whiny voices, "I suffered more than you did. No I suffered more!"

Dacius having been witness to the argument since it started, stood to the side choosing to remain silent. As being a recent arrival to the Dales he felt it was not his place to involve himself unless directly addressed.

"Put an end to this charade, be it with blood or with a pendant, but do not play politics in the middle of town for all farmers to see the people that leads them" a smile crosses Aglaeca's face while she sits on the stairs up to the Old Skull Inn, bottle of whiskey in one hand and her sheathed sword next to her, in case there is a fight going on.

Kendra, I will not leave the town in the hands of a psychotic tyrant. Knowing what is in that tower and knowing this woman now resides there - it will not end well for the city. I had the place sealed off and guarded - and she went behind our backs and entered it anyway. She was alone with a great evil that resides in those walls for gods know how long.

If it eases the situation, I am willing to be taken into prison, as long as this woman is taken there with me. You can search for the pendant and if it's found, and if it choses this woman, I will gladly face the consequences.

But I am not backing down this time. Rebels didn't bleed and die to let a tyrant take over the town. She wasn't elected, she doesn't even have the support of the majority and she has no support of the former allies of this town. The dwarves and the elves.

Her reign ends today. The Elders can lead the town while we both rest in a cell, waiting for the pendant to be found. I have no problems with that resolution.

Ahri looks at Glamerie, looking for any trace of oddities. She knew a True Seeing Spell wouldn't reveal much if the spell was an enchantment. She needed to find out before things went even more out of hand than they were. Perhaps, if she did, she could put a stop to this madness before swords were drawn.

((Can Ahri make a Spellcraft check, or such?))

Roman steps out from behind the shadowy back of the Skull Inn as the sun goes high in the sky... who knows how long he's been back there listening.  He wanders by the communal fire, twisting open a dark bottle of spirits and sips... a light dark grin on his face.  He mutters just loud enough to be earshot of the closest back row of onlookers.

"Shadowdale, is, was, and probably always will be... completely F#&%*$'D... I think I smell yet another coup in the making."

He sips some more and continue's to watch seedy, and amused.

"Enjoying the show?" Jay would say to the other Hounds. After a whole day of watching upon the Twisted Tower he would notice the Mayor reaching the gate and follow right away.

"I am proud of what my creative insults managed to sparkle" he would comment while standing close to Cruven and Sabi. "Taeron is still to be questioned for abusing and punching a free citizen whose only fault is not liking his friend miss nobody, but look at that. If only I knew a snarky comment of mine could cause this, I would have used it much earlier to kick Zhents out instead of months of work in the shadows".

He would glance around to see who also is there and wave to Imesah and Ahri.
