An envelope is sent to the office of the town elders. It is sealed with wax bearing the sigil of Kelemvor. The letter inside reads:

Elders Torst and Rory,

I hope this letter finds you both in good health and good spirits.

As you may already know, there is a regiment of Kelemvorites taking up residence inside the Old Skull Inn. They have come at my request for aid against the undead, and are awaiting a meeting with you. I would like to arrange such a meeting and accompany them in the hopes that we can devise a plan for our abilities against this unholy threat.

I await your response anxiously.

Respectfully yours,

Milo Rolston

A blonde woman delivers a letter to the Elders office. The sealed mail says :

To the current goverment of Shadowdale.

Greetings, my name is Sandra Kezzeri and I would wish to ask you to lift my ban in town temporarily. I do know that my previous rulers had quite a complicated situation with the native folk but I wasn't sort of person of high importance, I was just a soldier serving her nation as any good peasant does serve their lieges . Howerer for the last year I have to keep miserable existance in the wilderness of the Dales , as everyone now hunt me , despite I could hardly find my name in any of bounty lists. If you truly think that I have done some actual actions against your town, I am ready to repay them with gems or forced conscription. As the war with undead threat is going still, I can say that I am one of the most powerful swordsmen in Dales and which more important I do know how to survive through dire events and can help other people to survive. I've seen several undead hordes invanding the Dales and I still live. I am not asking for your mercy but I am trying to call for your logic. You don't have reason to distrust me as I am just a sole wanderer who is hated and chased by anyone. Howerer, once I've saved your sheriff Alexander Lewenheart I've never arised weapon against any of the Dalesfolk except situation when I was in desperation after having to spend year in solitude in harsh enviroment. And once this big threat which gathers before Dales ends I will never step on the grounds of your town if you wish it . Thank you for your time.

A man dressed in silver and purple armor drops off a letter for the elders and whoever else would need to view it.

"Sirs and/or madams,

My name is Alistair Dunscon. I am a retired Purple Dragon Knight of Cormyr who has spent much time in your town in the past.

I have recently returned to Shadowdale after a months-long trip back to my homeland to tie up some family business. I was informed of the undead threat earlier today and wish to offer my services to the town's defense. Those in the rebellion that freed the Dale from the tyranny of the Zhentarim may know my name if they are still around and should be able to attest to my tactical knowledge. Aside from that skill set, I am also a trained soldier and caster of arcane magics. I have also spent my fair share of time hunting dragons across the continent and have become quite proficient in casting from the safety of my armor.

Feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss my aid and what form it will take. I am staying at the Old Skull Inn and the lovely barmaid knows which room and has said she will pass along any message you wish to send me, if any.

Alistair Dunscon"

Sordoc approaches the Shadowdale Government offices, and drops off a letter.

"To the Elders,
I believe I have jumped the crossbow a little with my training proposals and the usage of the militia training camp. After a chat earlier today with a Commander Vorik, he has persuaded me it would be in my best interests to seek further permissions from the Elders to continue teaching the various ways of unarmed and armed fighting to those who would like to learn. I believe Commander Vorik has his concerns if further details are required, though for my training sessions, I would like to request the permission of one attending guard to ensure things do not get out of hand, as with all new training styles, people may get a bit over enthusiastic. If further details are required to continue my training are required, I will be willing to make some compromises.

From Sordoc the Gnome"

The Elders would have accepted the letter and sent out a messenger to say it is being discussed and they will contact him when something is decided.

Sir and/or Mad'am

A small Halfling figure approaches the Shadowdale Government offices Dressed in A green robe, and golden Ornaments with Calimshite religious inscriptions. Her face is half veiled behind a Silken black veil.

"Regarding the recent postings of Religious freedom.." Her voice resounds in the hall and with a firm slam with a staff a single Thud is made, to create an echoing sound, which should create some attention.
"In name of Yondalla, Most protecting, Most Providing.
I am forced to speak, and seek the listener of this question asked.
It has disappointed the faithfull. O Halflings listnen how the Faith of Yondalla is seen as violent,
and law breaking. Where all we did was to speak of more religious freedom, for our Kin at least.
Why O Halflings, are there many temples in this land, and Churches high in tower, and loud in bells.
But not one Halfling Shrine? Where lies the justice in that, and why are we not allowed to speak of this in public, on the notice board of this tallfolk village where Several Halflings do trade as well?
Please O Listener to the words of the faithfull, silence not, silence not. Speak now and allow us the Freedom of religion and the freedom to pray to our Goddess as you do, in your own churches tall, and loud."

Noya holds up the Green book she has been writing in. It is beautifully ornamented, Golden markings upon black leather.

"In the name of Yondalla, Most protecting, Most Providing. I have spoken in her name."

Commander Vorik seems to have been just about to leave when the small halfling steps up and slams her staff down. He jolts a bit from the surprise and the corner of his lips twitches. He waits and listens to her words before speaking himself.

"T-there's no need t-to be s-so agg-aggressive in your approach, miss. Erm...I d-do not know when or wh-where your faith was referred to as violent and l-law breaking. The r-religious freedom issues as of l-late are r-referring to worshippers of F-furies. N-not one s-such as Yondalla. There is n-no shrine for a h-halfling faith, no. But t-that is always s-something that ch-ch-...ch-..."

He pauses a takes a breath.

"...change, provided someone s-steps up to r-request such and help w-with funds for it. We are b-but a simple f-farm town, miss. With all d-due respect, if w-we had a shrine dedicated to each and every other god and g-goddess out there, it would b-be overwhelming and extremely expensive. I t-think you would d-do well to speak with s-someone from the House of P-p-plenty, however. T-they seem to have similar v-views as t-to your Goddess from wh-what I understand."

A twitchy smile forms on his face and he adjusts the large assortment of parchments in his hands.

"I c-can show you wh-where it is, if you like."

PostSubject: A Letter Regarding "Healing the Scar"   Mon May 18, 2015 2:40 pm

A letter arrives addressed to the Elders from the Mages Guild:
Quote :
Respected Elders,
I wish to notify you that Elektra Mysteria has been admitted to the Shadowdale Mages Guild as a Provisional Mage. Removal of the "Provisional" designation is conditional on her continued progress toward redemption and is being actively monitored by the Guild.

I personally am helping her with her efforts on your behalf to restore the farmlands which were salted by the Zhentarim. I have also encouraged all Guild members to aid her as their consciences see fit. With respect to this effort, I request that the requirement for her to be escorted by a Militia member within Shadowdale be lifted. Failing a complete lifting, please allow any member of the Mages Guild to act as an escort in lieu of a Militia member.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Sage Gray
Shadowdale Mages Guild

A letter arrives to the government office

The letter wrote:
To the captain of the militia, Captain Wester
I would  like, if possible to join the militia as a scout if such an opening exists. I'm not sure, but after some discussion with Azzelias, he seems to possibly reccomend me for possible service as a scout for the militia. I have may have some possible recomendations from Ivaris Alamaine, Therion the knight and Commander Vorik concerning my speed, combat abilities and tracking skills. Though I will admit there may be a few concerns regarding my past within the dales. I believe Commander Vorik has the full details of these concerns. I just wish to put my tallents to use for a town that has helped me consider a lot in my life of recent times.

Hoping to receive note soon
Sordoc the Gnome

*Twos days later a response is issued*

Mr Sordoc

The militia have reviewed your correspondence to join as a scout within our ranks. It has been decided to approve you as a volunteer troop and assign you to our recon division. Report to Commander Vorik at the town hall as soon as you receive this notice and receive your militia badge. Know that your past affiliations have not been forgotten and your approval is conditional. Your actions within the Militia will be under review until further notice.

Dear government and administrators of Shadowdale,

My name is Quatwick Nacklenock, and I am writing about a possible plot of land I have been looking at. East of Shadowdale there is what appears to be an abandoned pit clearly man-made. I would like to know if this hole serves a purpose, and if not, if the plot is open for sale. I am currently staying at the local inn here in town, so I can be reached there.

If opened, the brief letter would read:
