PostSubject: Long time coming   Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:31 pm

Yah, this post has been a long time coming. There have been a lot of negative posts in the last few days and unfortunately I think a couple of them have even been mine. Sorry for how long this is, and if I miss anyone, it's not intentional. SO...here goes. (probably going to mess up and mix up player names and character names bear with me)

First to all those who have been friends to my main, Shah'in. Zil, silin, nova, arc, cherry, alex, and many more (my mind is still on little sleep and lots of work), the RP has been great. The twists, the drama, all of it. Interesting and engaging, keeps me itching to log in just to see what happens next. All the rest, who have had less than pleasant experiences with my ranger Wink. Just because she doesn't like your character, doesn't mean I don't like you. All the negative has to come with the positive. Thanks for those that keep it IC, and fun. Good or bad.

Buce When I started Maya it was an experiment, to see if I would like it. I have stayed away from playing drow because of all the OOC hassle I have seen over the years, and SIlin can tell you all that I agonized over this decision for a couple weeks. The group needed a priestess, and I waited to see if any would show. In the end I decided to take it on. First drow ever for me on NWN, and first full cleric ever. It wasn't long before I was drawn in by the politics of the role I chose to play, much of it handled by Buce as the Coronal of Myth Drannor. That, along with the help figuring out the guild stuff, and all the other work that she does, thanks Buce. Thanks much.

Mustang Man, I know I can be a pain, but thanking you here for knowing when to use the DM bat, even when it's swung at me. The hard work, the updates, the unbiased rulings, and the epic fairness. Thanks man.

Nova Hey, I know how hard it is, DMing for friends. It's tough to stay in DM mode, but still keep your friends, well, your friends. I hope I speak for all of us when I say we will do better. Thanks for the hard work, the interesting plots, and the great RP as your character.

Shorn I know we've butted heads, IC and OOC a couple times, but overall, I have found the RP to be fun, the rest has been interesting, and even with the tense situations I like to think we were gentlemen about it.

Sherne Yah, going to gush over this one. I'm a writer, been a roleplayer for years, so character is a huge thing for me. Sherne is one of the best characters I have seen in a long time. So three dimensional and dynamic. The struggle with his instinct to hate drow, against his heart that knows what's right, balanced by his responsibility to duty and his people...man, when the RP can make me, the player, honestly feel empathy for a PC...that's good RP man. I look forward to more.

Hamza Oof man, I told you, you know. Shivvers. That letter he wrote to Ariyana there at the end...I needed a shower after reading that. That was one messed up little bald dude.

AMithien and Nelduil Yes, you inseparable duo get one paragraph together ;P. The interaction there was great. I was really impressed, happy, intrigued, and blown away by their first encounter with Maya. To see Nelduil battle with his desire to go off on the drow, and Amithien's balanced curiosity, being a priestess of an ally of Eilistraee, but also a defender of Myth Drannor. THe situation was tense, it was uncomfortable, but it was great RP. I look forward to more from those two.

Ash and Mith Language barriers, misunderstandings, and differing philosophies aside, it has been interesting. I think these two characters have shown that even within a faith, people don't always look at the world the same way. It's not uncommon for people of the same faith to have vastly different views of how that faith is to be expressed. The changes in RP, the growth of character, and the dynamic interaction has really made it fun to have them part of the story.

Shyntra Wow, evil...evil so smart and subtle that it boggles the mind. The plot was great, it was intriguing, it made even me, the character, feel what the others were going through. Far as the interaction with this little spider has gone, it has been great, challenging my RP, which I love, and making me think. Oh, and in that journal entry I just assumed that 'dirty bird' was referring to Shah'in, that almost made me fall out of my chair. If not, oh well, it was still great.

I know, I've probably forgotten people. One of the things I do is, when my character meets someone, I put their name in the notes section so I can look in a flash just in case I forgot that my character knew someone. The list on Shah's is a mile long, and Maya's is growing. Some I have just not RPed with enough, others I am just absent minded like that. Short term memory is not one of my strong suits.

For the most part this has been the best NWN server I have played on, and I look forward to seeing it get better. Thanks all, see ya in game.

I do enjoy to play with you Magus. I look foward to our next RP even if Snow and Ash won't ever be as close as first, she still look up to her sometimes. It's just that her path as differ.

That's the way RP goes sometimes. As long as it's all IC it's good.

The rp has been awesome. the concept of Mith is hard to play with the already ill concepts of all drow and innate distrust. And What he does and how he does it makes it even more fun :-)

Thought of one I missed (might do this a bit, I can be scatterbrained)

Vince interesting character, haven't quite figured him out yet. Haven't RPed with him much, but he seems to have a very complex personality. I hope to see more honestly.

-They themselves have spent since the servers launching in trying to gain one small thread of hope/trust. I find it a bit disheartening there are cries to ignore all their RP. Should most surfaces fear and hate drow? Of course, but I am following the very motto put forth, they are players too. I cannot simply ignore them or their RP.

THIS, this is why we love you Buce. Frankly today was frustrating for me OOC, and showed me again why I have always avoided playing drow in NWN. The OOC griefing is just...glah. But this...this made it all better. I know the staff understands, but to see it in print. Thank you, so much.

Know this, Shah'in helped make him that messed up and so did a few others. Like batman your character and some others created their villains through the RP. It was an interesting and fun ride to say the least.

Thanks for the flowers Wink

At this point I think I've got something to confess:
The first time we had contact during an ooc-quarrel at the forum I thought: "Oh my god, someone just as stubborn as me, we won't get along at all." But I have to say really enjoyed RPing with your different characters on different occasions and looking forward for more Smile

Haha, stubborn is a kind way to put it Wink. Honestly, I'm old, set in my ways, and I love a good debate. Very rarely do I have any kind of malice toward anyone when I post an argument, or debate to their posts. I sometimes forget, myself, that text is a terrible way to communicate. DnD is kinda special to me. Been at it over half my life now, played every edition, and unfortunately/fortunately my head is full of tons of useless knowledge, much of which I don't even remember the source.

It has been fun, and I too look forward to more.

When I worked at Red Robin (hamburger place), we called it the Dirty Bird.
