According to Lt. Col Grossman in his book on Combat that I'm reading right now. I never much liked console games but after reading that I found a cheap way to practice my marksmanship!
Anyone know what the good point and click console shooter games are today?

| I think that America's Army 3 is supposed to be a really realistic fps. Also it's free. |

| I gotta say, being a rather big shooter game player myself, that it doesn't really help with marksmanship |

| Grossman's an awesome speaker. If anyone ever gets a chance to attend one of his workshops, I recommend they do so. It honestly changed how I look at what I do. |

| The old Operation Flashpoint or the arma series... Some of the best out there and most realistic imo. |

Also I found an excellent Weapons Training Simulator. It's for the Wii and it is called Reload.

| It's more like shooters develop your hand-eye coordination than your actual skills with a firearm, but you're just better with firearms if you have a good hand-eye coordination. You're also better at peeling vegetables. Call of Duty made me a good cook. |

| going to call shananigans on this one, if that were the case it wouldn't be so hard to coach new shooters. |

| Yep...total BS on that. My son is great at the shooter games, but put my USP in his hands and his patterns look like buck shot . Airsoft is much better at training combat shooters. All teh "feel" without all that nasty blood and death thing when you screw up (and cheaper than sim-rounds). _________________ Ursus Ahrahl: Vengeful warrior of the Black Hounds Alistair Dunscon: Knight Mage of Shadows (semi-retired) Sgaile: Feral wood elf shadow hunter trying to get back to his roots Zaphram Babblerocks: Silly ex-pilot with the LAC (Lantanese Air Corps) Turin Greyhold: The most un-paladinlike paladin Jarrin Taarn: Charming smuggler and swordsman Ronon Darkholme: The eyes and ears of the Night Watch of Kelemvor's Eternal Order

| You learn how to look down sights and if the animations are right you can learn how to load and rack a firearm. The accuracy is another thing, as most first person shooters have pretty much dead on accuracy. Also the kick back isn't as extreme in video games in my experiences.

| Killzone 3 is a good Shooter. It's for PS3. It has class based online multiplayer. |
